What we do

We open different markets in a seamless way, creating and adjusting texts to sound natural and connected to your audience.

Localization & Transcreation

We are specialists in getting what you mean and rewriting it in a different language through our handmade 5-layer process. Our text is creative, high-quality, and tailored to your needs.

Includes: consultation, translation & review, glossary & style guide build, query handling, and character constraint management.

LQA

The last stage: linguistic quality assurance (LQA) to make sure our beautiful text looks great in your game.
Our team has thousands of hours of LQA experience. There’s no bug we can’t crush, no bleeding we can’t stop, no overlap we can’t untangle.
Includes: flexible coverage scopes, a bug report sheet classified by severity, and linguistic fixes.

Disclaimer: We don’t sneak AI into our translations to speed things up or cut costs. We are enemies of “good enough”.
We are committed to offering a high-quality human translation, better than any combination of AIs could produce, edited or not.

About

Who we are

We are a small Brazilian studio based in Italy, founded by industry veteran Rafael Matias, focused on indie and mid-size studios and publishers.
We are Iguanas native to the Game Localization habitat. When we get our claws on a project, we’re restless and adaptive, only satisfied once we’ve crafted linguistic solutions tailored to our clients’ environment and to the people we really work for: the players.
When not working, we’re chill creatures that love to play games and bask in our routines.
All our brand identity and illustrations were beautifully done by Ana Vargas.

Mission & Values

What we stand for

This section isn’t decoration or corporate hypocrisy. We care about being coherent.
We act in the same way we think and speak. We strive to be a better partner for our clients and for our Iguanas. Our moral compass always points toward what’s best for everyone, not just one or a few individuals.

Our mission

To be the benchmark among Game Localization studios: for the quality of our work and for how we treat our Iguanas.

Fair to our Iguanas

Our Iguanas are the heart and soul of who we are, whether they are freelancers or full-time employees. The gaming industry left its scars on our skin, and now we want to show that it is possible to cultivate a safer and better environment for everyone, wherever they are.

Quality over volume

We’re not predators, and we don’t bite off more than we can chew. Second only to our principles, quality comes before everything. We won’t sacrifice it for money or big volume promises. We are allergic to “good enough”.

Human translation

Or should I say Iguana translation? Our drafts, translations, and revisions are always done by humans. We are strict about the use of AI on our projects: only for research, context, and brainstorming. Never to translate.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

No. We are focused on quality, and we are sure we can do better than it. Simple as that.

At the moment, only Brazilian Portuguese. This is the language we know and can properly control the quality of the output. We will be adding other languages slowly as the company and its processes mature.

Localization + review typically costs between $0.10 and $0.15 per word. We have different pricing for different clients and projects. Talk to us, tell us about your project, and send us a sample to get a proper quote.

More than cooking fish and chips and (typically) less than the Earth takes to go around the sun. It will all depend on project complexity, the amount of context given, size, type of the file. If you want something fast and good enough, this is not the place.

XML, CSV, JSON, PO, XLIFF… Pretty much everything, even Unity and Unreal files if you insist.

You should, and so are we. We are available to sign NDAs. From our side, all our linguists sign an NDA with us and are frequently reminded to secure their folders, be extra cautious with their laptop and take a lot of care when publishing on social media. We don’t take this lightly.
