What we collect, and why
When you use the contact form
We collect the name, email address and message you type in. We use them only to read and answer your enquiry, and to carry on the conversation if it turns into a project.
Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us (Art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Form submissions reach us by email and are kept in our mailbox. We keep enquiries that do not lead to work for up to 24 months, then delete them. If we end up working together, correspondence is kept for as long as the working relationship lasts and for the period Italian tax and accounting law requires afterwards.
When you simply read the site
We use Koko Analytics to count page views. It runs on our own server, does not set tracking cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not follow you across other websites. What we see is aggregate: which pages were read, and how often. We cannot identify you from it.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site works (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Our hosting provider and the network in front of it keep standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. These are held for a short period and then overwritten.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress may set strictly necessary cookies for basic functionality and for anyone logging in to the admin area. If we ever add anything that tracks you, we will ask first and update this page.
Who else handles your data
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing. A small number of suppliers process it on our behalf in order to run the site and our email:
- Hostinger — website hosting and email
- Cloudflare — content delivery and security
These suppliers act under contract and may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, it is covered by the safeguards required under Chapter V of the GDPR, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interest. Write to info@iguanalocalize.com and we will reply within one month.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or to the authority in the EU country where you live.
Children
This site is aimed at game developers and publishers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
